Total Depth's President, Jason Harms, founded the company in 2015 after recognizing the industry's need for a more sustainable geosteering career and lifestyle. Meeting our client and team member needs is vital to the success of the company.
Jason started his career as a mudlogger in the Permian and Anadarko Basins, after graduating from Oklahoma University with a Bachelor's Degree in Geology. In under two years, he quickly made his way from mudlogger to command center geologist to operations geologist studying petrophysics at WPX Energy in Denver, Colorado. Jason has written publications on geosteering methods and using tool physics to calculate formation dip in a lateral.
In his free time, Jason enjoys skiing, mountain biking, and showing his wife and their Goldendoodle, Argos, the wonders of Colorado.
WHO WE ARE
INDUSTRY'S TOP GEOSTEERERS
We offer 24/7 coverage from the best geosteerers in the business.
All of our geologists have Downtown Denver office operations experience, on top of wellsite experience, which requires top-level skills for visualizing complex and 3D concepts - all of which are used in our everyday geosteering.
Each of our geologists have over 10,000 hours of experience drilling all over the United States.
RECORD-BREAKING WELL PERFORMANCE
Some of our most recent accomplishments include:
Holding the record in the Bakken (ND and MT) for not hitting shale

Over 600 Eagleford and 500 Permian laterals drilled
Our geologists are the direct contact for our clients and their wellsites - they know when to
call (and when not to call)!
